Memorial Hall – About Ley Hill

A charming Buckinghamshire village…

Ley Hill is nestled between Chesham and Hemel Hempstead on the border between Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. At the edge of the village is Ley Hill Common which houses the golf course and the cricket pitch, and which is fronted by The Crown public house.

The Common also provides the setting for Classics on the Common, an impressive gathering of classic cars which takes place on a Sunday in August.

Golf began here in the 1890s, when Lord Chesham gave a group of Chesham professional men permission to play on the Common. Local artisans then formed the Ley Hill part of the club. Set amongst mature trees.

Ley Hill Cricket Club’s matches are played on the common. Visitors can sit back and watch a match from outside the pub, look in at the pavilion bar or relax with a drink on the patio.
